The concept of these headphones intrigued me. Can they really eliminate background noise entirely as they claim? The only way to find out was to try them for myself. At £275.00 these aren't cheap by any means, but neither are they the most expensive on the market. Denon take note, £800.00 for a pair of AH-D7000 is a heck of a lot of money! But, the QC3s are beautiful to look at and come with all manner of accessories; a portable carry case in which they fold flat, two rechargeable batteries and charger with worldwide adaptors. Still not worth the money I hear you say? Well my cynical friends, wait until you turn them on: they really do work! All background noise reduces significantly. Clocks ticking, the Hoover, the wife's nagging (only joking my love!). The rich bass tones and subtle nuances that you never heard in your music before are brought richly to life. Neither do they look like a pair of coconuts that have been grafted to your head by Dr Frankenstein. These sit on the ear and if, like me, you are cursed with a pair of gimpy lug holes they are comfortable enough to wear for hours. Especially if long haul flights are a regular part of your life. The battery runs on approximately 20 hours of charge time. Enough to get you to New York and back. So, are they worth the money and are they any good? I'd answer both those questions with a resounding "yes". There are better sounding cans on the market, but do they eliminate unwanted intrusions to your listening pleasure as the QC3s do? NO! They are a truly ingenious concept made to look good and sound better: buy them now! |
